The second stage is document verification at a predefined centre given by the DTE. Then the merit list is declared.

After the merit list is out, the centralized admission process starts. There are three CAP Rounds. Top Management Institutes of Maharashtra are JBIMS, KJ Somaiya, Sydenham, Welingkars, SIES. There are four sections in the MAH CET Exam. It is an online test conducted online by the State CET cell. There are 200 questions and the total time allotted is 150 minutes. MAH CET is a speed-based exam. It is conducted by a body called IBPS, which is the same body that conducts the Bank PO Exams. There are also several ways to crack the MH-CET Examination for students, all they need to do is understand the following:

  • Logical Reasoning, with a total of 75 questions has the highest weightage
  • Abstract or Non-Verbal Reasoning comprising 25 sections
  • The next two sections are Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability consisting of 50 questions each.

What Kind of Questions to Expect?

Each question carries one mark so the maximum mark is 200. There is no negative marking in this paper so a student can attempt each and every question given the time permits. There are no sectional cutoffs. Ideally, you do not get even 45 seconds for each question so you will have to capitalize on your strongest section.
The logical reasoning section is the most important and difficult section and is given the highest weightage with 75 questions. Out of 75 questions, around 55-60 are based entirely on analytical reasoning and the rest are based on verbal reasoning.
Analytical reasoning has questions from arrangements - linear or circular and puzzles, data structures, blood relations coding-decoding, logical inequalities, series and reasoning based on data. There may also be data sufficiency questions based on reasoning skills only.

Verbal reasoning consists of critical reasoning questions and syllogisms.

The number of questions per topic is never fixed and varies from year to year.

Abstract reasoning has questions based on different kinds of figures, questions based on series, the odd one out and analogies. Series and analogy questions are more common. This particular section needs a lot of practice. You need to be quick and get used to solving this section in 10-15 minutes.

Quantitative aptitude includes data interpretation and data sufficiency type questions. The breakup of questions is again never the same. The majority of the questions are based on data interpretation, that is, answering questions based on data given in the form of tables, pie charts and bar charts. Some questions are based on data sufficiency. The remaining are based on basic arithmetic, a couple from modern arithmetic, algebra and geometry.

The verbal ability and reading comprehension section had three comprehensions with 15 questions. The remaining are based on synonyms and antonyms, grammar, idioms and phrases.

There are also important not-skip subjects that one should prepare for. Some subtle subjects that are often overlooked but carrying importance include history, geography, and current affairs. As an appearing candidate, make sure to pay attention especially when preparing for these.

Conclusion

Thus, it is pretty straightforward to apply for the MAH-CET exam by following the above-mentioned steps. Interested test takers should be regularly checking the official websites for any updates about the test. Make sure you have the necessary documents ready when you apply and that all the details in your admit card are correct.
