Q1.

The present age of Sanjay is twice the age of Shetty’s age after 4 years. 7 years hence, Shetty’s age will be thrice the present age of Rohit. If Anurag is 4 years older to Rohit and 1 year younger to Shetty, find ratio of Sanjay’s age 2 years ago & Anurag’s age after 3 years.

Let present age of Shetty be ‘x’ years

Sanjay’s present age = 2(x + 4) years = (2x + 8) years

Present age of Rohit =

(x+7)3(x+7)3

 years

Present age of Anurag =

(x+7)3(x+7)3

+ 4 =

(x+19)3(x+19)3

 years = (x - 1) years

x + 19 = 3x - 3

x = 11 years (Shetty’s present age)

Required ratio = Sanjay’s age 2 years ago: Anurag’s age after 3 years

= (2x + 8 - 2): (x – 1 + 3)

= 28:13
